Variuscard offers an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic cards. Paper cards made of high-quality coated and reinforced cardboard, which are in no way inferior to plastic cards in terms of print and quality.
These can be produced from 500 pieces and can also be made with an integrated chip. Perfect for a short period of use, as a gift card, visitor badge and much more.
The special rigidity is made possible by the alternating multi-layer structure of cellulose fiber, reinforcement layers and cover layers. The top coat on both sides and the high-quality cellulose fiber creates an outstanding feel, which gives the end product an unmatched quality.
As smart variation with chip and / or magnetic strips, the paper cards can be produced in the quality of 0.80 mm with a cellulose / cardboard content of up to 94% *. Ideal as an alternative to PVC based short-to-medium cards such as gift cards, hotel key cards, ticketing / access cards – up to one year’s use.
* The proportion of RFID parts incl. antenna + chip is approx. 6%.
The paper cards can be delivered not only with RFID chips but also with magnetic stripes and can be encoded and personalized using a standard thermal transfer printers using special ribbons.
Therefore a change in equipment is not necessary. Alternatively the paper cards can be personalized with inkjet as well.

The recyclable cards can also be upgraded with finishing techniques such as hot foil stamping or metallic printing.
Personalization is possible as with any plastc cards. In thermal transfer printing, the cards can be printed black using special resin-containing ribbons. This way, short-lived identity cards (visitor badges, entrance tickets, construction site passes) can be personalized quickly, inexpensively and environmentally friendly.
These environmentally friendly paper cards comply with the ISO standard / IEC 7810 and can be produced in a quality of 0.5mm to 0.85mm. For more information read our flyer.
